It is an aquatic plant that grows just as well in both the wild and on private plantations of the Lotus. It has many healing properties which are especially evident when the flowers of the plant are eaten raw. Its roots can be either boiled or deep fried, and they are especially popular as a daily snack in Asia. Tea can be made at home by placing the flower or leaves of the Lotus in hot water. It is a popular detox agent and can also enhance sexual vigour.
